Girl'S Bedroom Ideas

Girl's Room

A girl's room is her sanctuary, no matter what age she is. If you want to give her a room she will love, make sure you devote its theme to something she enjoys. Here are a few ideas for girl's bedrooms that vary depending on their age and personality type.

Young Girl's Bedroom

If you remember what it was like to pretend you were a princess or a magical fairy when you were little, then you will understand why a fairytale bedroom is perfect for a young girl.

Leaning more towards the fairy room décor, you have tons of options. Paint the walls in a pale shade of green, or even purple if she prefers. Paint stencils or murals of fairies all over the room. You can buy wallpaper cutouts of fairies and unicorns, and even glitter paint that you can spray on the walls like fairy dust. Hang tulle from the four corners of the ceiling and meet them in the middle over her bed with a chandelier. It will symbolize the fairytale forest canopy.

For a princess room, use similar ideas, but turn the room into her kingdom instead of a fairytale forest. This time paint the walls with castles, dragons and knights, and add her name with "Princess" in front of it. Set up her very own dress-up area stocked with princess costumes, makeup, accessories and a giant mirror. You can find bedding that will match your room décor almost anywhere.

Teen Girl's Bedroom

If you want to get into the mind of a teenage girl, you need to think like one. It really is all about personal space, and the room symbolizing whatever her passion is.

If she happens to love the old-world Victorian style or loves the idea of France and Paris, give her a very feminine and chic room. You can go to either of the two extremes to achieve these looks for the room. You can go all white for the Victorian bedroom, with luxurious fabrics, antique furniture, a vanity and accessories. On the other hand, you can give her a deep gold or burgundy Parisian room with rich wooden furniture, heavy fabrics and drapery, and gold accessories.

Now, if your girl is a rocker, she has to have a room that screams Rock and Roll. Paint the walls in a vibrant shade of hot pink or go the dramatic route and paint the room black or dark purple. Either way, just make sure the accent décor is on the extreme opposite end of the color spectrum so the room is not all vibrant or all dark and gloomy. From there, you can buy old records and guitars, and then hang them on the walls for a genuine rock look. Add stenciled music notes to the walls, and place hooks around the room to hang her clothes on. Her bedroom will be like her very own backstage dressing room. Any bedding will do since Rock and Roll is about being abstract and different. If she likes the girl-rock look, add glitter spray to the walls as a finishing touch.
