Design Your Own Bedroom Online For Kids

Using online design games is a fun way to plan ahead when decorating a room for kids.

Whether you moved to a new house or you're going to redo your child's bedroom, you can't start buying furniture without planning. Hiring an interior designer might be expensive. You can use websites with room planning games. In these games, you can plan, build and decorate a room without buying any software or hiring a decorator.

Instructions

1. Go to the Icovia Room Planner at http://roomplanner.icovia.com/bedsbunksandlofts/resources/icovia.aspx. Click on "Launch icovia® Room Planner." Apart from being free, this website doesn't require any software to be downloaded, in contrast with other websites.

2. Choose the option that appeals to you best. You have two options: Start with a default room or create your own room from scratch. Select "Design your own" tab if you want to create a whole new room. If you prefer to start with a default room, skip all the way to step 6.

3. Enter the dimensions of your room. Select the plan type: Youth Bedroom. Finally, click on "Continue."

4. Choose the subcategory you wish to start with. Start with the furniture category.

5. Choose your furniture. You have a wide range of options, from a simple bed to an L-shaped bunk bed. Drag the item from the left box and drop it into the empty space on the center. You have four options at the four corners. The red "X" is to eliminate the item. The blue "I" is to enter the control panel and customize the item. Finally, both yellow nodes change the orientation of the bed. Experiment with the categories. For example in the Structural category, you will find different kinds of windows and doors.

6. Click on any item that you want to modify or erase. In a default room, there may be some things that don't fit your taste, or your kid's taste either. You can add more things by using the left panel and choosing the furniture category.
