Gothic decorations are often dark, so they will fit into a naturally light-challenged attic bedroom. Emphasize your favorite elements of Gothic decor in the bedroom. Several different aspects can be highlighted such as vampires, dragons, fairies or skulls. Pieces for a Gothic-style attic bedroom can be found in antique shops, at garage sales or in Halloween specialty stores. A little goes a long way with this theme. Take advantage of the existing structure of the attic, such as a sloping ceiling or oddly shaped window.
Instructions
1. Paint the walls a deep red or a stone gray. Since attics are typically small and dark, applying a color to the walls goes a long way. Black may be the first color that comes to mind when planning a Gothic bedroom, but it needs to be used with care. Accent with black accessories, rather than covering walls with black paint.
