Remove Depilatory Wax From A Dining Room Tabletop

Depilatory wax provides an affordable way to remove unwanted hair while remaining in the comfort of your own home. When depilatory wax ends up stuck on the dining room table, it's important to remove the oil-based substance from the surface before the wood becomes damaged. The process of removing this type of wax is similar to that of removing candle wax.

Instructions

1. Place ice cubes in a plastic bag. Seal the bag and lay it over the depilatory wax on the dining room table. Leave the bag of ice in place until the wax is hard.

2. Remove the ice bag from the surface of the table, and dry the table with a clean cloth. Scrape up hardened wax with the edge of a credit card. This effectively lifts the wax from the surface without scratching your table.

3. Pour a quarter-sized amount of mineral spirits on a clean cloth. Buff the area where the depilatory wax was to remove any wax residue.

4. Combine equal parts white vinegar and water in a bowl. Dip a clean cloth into the diluted vinegar solution, and wash off the dining room table surface to remove oil residue left by the wax. Dry the table with another clean cloth.
