Painting Ideas For A Little Girl'S Bedroom

Colors are important to a little girl, so the key colors should be chosen by her. Painting the walls her favorite color is the first step to giving a little girl a dream bedroom. With a little extra thought and effort, her bedroom can become much more than just a room. Her room can be transformed into a land of enchantment.

Stencils

Pick a theme for a wall and decorate with stencils. Stencils and brushes can be purchased at crafts stores and discount stores. Let your little girl decide what suits her fancy. Disney characters, kittens, fish or butterflies are only a few of many possibilities. A wall painted in two shades of blue can represent the sky and the ocean. With a bit of freehand artistry, you can paint some rolling waves to distinguish the separation of water to sky. Use a fish stencil to paint beautifully colored fish of different sizes to swim in the sea.

Select some butterflies to fill a wall. Large and small butterflies in a rainbow of colors are sure to please a little girl. Trace and paint a simple tree in a corner or add a row of flowers at the bottom of the wall. The wall will come alive with color and will be a room where she will enjoy spending her time.

Fence

Create a country look with a fence. Cut a template for a picket fence from sturdy cardboard. The dimensions of this can vary, but 3 inches wide and 36 inches long would represent a basic size. The top of the post should be rounded. Once the fence has dried, add some painted flowers and a vine to wrap and wind around a few posts. A small bush with a few flowers is another option to add more color. Dip a sea sponge in some green paint to paint the bush. Add some flowers to the bush with a small sponge or with a stencil brush. Add some birds in the sky and a robin sitting on a fence post.

Clouds

A blue ceiling would look dreamy with a few fluffy clouds. In a small tray, combine 1 cup of white satin paint and ¼ cup of glaze. These proportions can be adjusted according to personal preference. Use a sea sponge to create clouds on the ceiling. Start with the inside of the cloud and work your way out to give a translucent look to the edges of the clouds.
