The great thing about decorating a bathroom is that they usually are small. It's a great room to use your creative skills. If you are interested in a new look for your bathroom, and are on a tight budget, you will have to be especially creative. Update the paint and textiles in the bathroom to change up the look without spending too much money.

Add art to your walls to change the look of your bathroom. There are creative ways to do so on a tight budget. Frame pictures that you find in magazines or even old calendars. Another idea is to frame your child's artwork. If you are hanging multiple pictures, make sure that they are all in the same color of frames. That will create a unified look.
Shower Curtain
A cheap way to update your bathroom is to make over a shower curtain. Either use your existing shower curtain, or purchase a solid-color shower curtain, especially a waffle-weave one. To make over the shower curtain, you will need a hot glue gun. Buy decorative supplies at a craft store, such as rickrack, silk flowers and ribbon. It's quite easy to do, depending on the look that you hope to create.
Decorative Boxes
A practical idea for updating the decor in your bathroom, while also providing storage options, is to add decorative boxes to store items. You will also be able to store wayward items, which will also make appear more organized and clean. Decorative boxes are available in multiple colors and patterns, including teal, bright-pink or bright floral patterns.
Frosted Mirrors
Decorate the mirrors in your bathroom with frosted spray paint. Purchase the spray paint at any craft store. Spray the frosted paint around the perimeter of the mirror to create a frosted border. Make sure that the border is only about two inches thick, unless the mirror is exceptionally large. This spray paint is usually white in color.
