Decorate A Sexy Bedroom

Your bedroom is the place in which you go to unwind at the end of a long day or spend one-on-one time with that special someone. While you want your bedroom to be comfortable and relaxing, you may also want it to double as a place where you can turn up the romance and tune out the world. Decorating a sexy bedroom is less about the obvious and more about the subtle touches that add an aura of romance and sensuality to the space.

Instructions

1. De-clutter your space. Nothing kills romance faster than a pile of dirty clothes next to the closet or a pile of stuff from your pocket atop your dresser. Put everything in its proper place and clear away any clutter items, putting piles in the laundry or bathroom and tidying up the space overall.

2. Dress up your bed for romance. While it's fine to have your everyday comforter for daily use, when it's time to flip the switch on the romance, you have to start by setting the scene on your bed. A floral comforter with deep, rich tones sets a clear mood for romance, particularly when accompanied by plenty of pillows and silk or satin sheets.

3. Soften up your lighting. When it comes to decorating a sexy bedroom, lighting is key. Turn off the harsh overhead lighting and instead, trend towards softer, more romantic lamp lights. If you want to ramp up the level of sexiness in the bedroom, install a few blacklight bulbs to make the lighter elements--including a curvy body in a white shimmering nightie--glow amour. You could also opt for a color, like red or pink, for lamp lighting for creative sexiness.

4. Distribute fabrics around the room. Nothing says sexy like a room full of things that feel good to the touch. Drape some silky fabrics around lamp shades and on bed posts. When you are spending time with your loved one in the bedroom, make sure these fabrics are accessible, as sexiness is about stimulating all five senses and silky fabrics can be one of the more interactive decorative elements of the room.

5. Hang sexy artwork. This does not mean it has to be obvious sexiness, like nudes or racy photos. Sometimes, sexy artwork communicates sensuality in a subtle manner. For example, hang a few older black and white photos of couples holding hands and sharing a kiss. Or use color to communicate sexiness, with bold, beautiful prints in abstract or even floral patterns done in rich reds, oranges or pinks.
