Boys Bedroom Makeover Ideas

Give his room a fun makeover.

Decorating and rearranging your boy's bedroom may be a challenge, depending on his age. If he is a younger child, you may need to choose a décor and style that will grow with him, as well as hold his toys. If he is older, you must take into account the storage needs of teens, as well as his own interests. Have fun making over his bedroom into a place that he will love.

Paint

Using paint in a room is one of the easiest ways to conduct a makeover.

Consider painting one wall an intense red or orange, or a deep blue or green, and then use a softer shade of the same or contrasting colors to paint the remaining walls. You can then incorporate stained or painted furniture in a dark shade along with white or off white trim to lighten things up.

Theme

Consider creating a theme in your boys bedroom. This is an easy and fun way to make over the room. Some examples of themes to use include jungle, skateboard, surfing and soccer. The theme you choose should depend on the interests of the boy and his age. Get him involved in choosing the theme. Incorporate the theme into the room with wall decals, window treatments and textiles.

Simple Wall Murals

Reusable wall decals are a quick and inexpensive way to make over his room. There are myriad murals to choose from, including trees, animals and baseball. Create a wall mural using the wall decals. The nice thing about the decals is that they are easy to apply and easy to remove. There should not be extensive damage to the walls when you remove them, he can change his bedroom often as he grows up.

Shelves

Add special shelves to your boys bedroom to showcase his talents and activities. For example, if he is involved in a specific sport or other activities, create a special area for any awards, trophies or ribbons that he has won. Include pictures of him engaged in the activities.
