Instructions On Make A Simple Dining Table

You can make a simple dining table from an old wooden door.

Serve feasts for a crowd from this simple dining table, which you can assemble with no special tools or equipment. The table surface is an old flat door, which you can purchase from architectural supply companies at little cost. The table rests on cement pillars that you can find at a garden supply shop. By adding a plain white tablecloth, you can feature fine china and silver flatware for a formal occasion. You can also cover the table with a cotton bedspread and set the table with stoneware for a casual dinner.

Instructions

1. Remove all hardware from the used wooden door with the screwdriver. Sand all rough edges with the sandpaper.

2. Fill in any screw or nail holes with the wood putty. Rub the surface of the wood with tung oil using the old rags, and let dry for two hours.

3. Cut out two pieces of wool felt to the size of the top of the cement pillars. Place the felt on the pillars.

4. Rest the wooden door on the felt, which will cushion and stabilize the door on the pillars.
