Bedroom Wall Ideas

A bedroom wall can be part of the structure of a building, or it can be a clean slate for decorating ideas. If you see yours as the latter, there are many ways to personalize your bedroom wall and make it your own. Some involve paint, while others involve materials such as stencils and drapes. But they all have one thing in common: creativity.

It's All About You

Make your bedroom wall a reflection of who you are. After all, you spend six to eight hours in this room every night, and more if you have a computer or television. If you live in a dormitory, your room may be the only place to entertain guests. So plan carefully. Do you want a theme? Would you like a picture? How about using words or poetry?

Start Decorating

Start turning your ideas into reality. If you've decided on a theme, now is a great time to check out peel-off wall decals, available at local hardware stores. They come in various shapes, sizes and types, and can be removed easily. Decals can also be made (see the references for additional information). If you live in a building that allows you to make permanent changes to your room, find directions for painting a mural on your wall. You may even be able to create a trompe l'oeil effect with an archway or garden painting. Another idea, inspired by the decor of a well-known alcohol superstore chain, is to write famous quotes or sayings on the walls of the room. There is nothing like seeing a motivational quote to start your day in the morning.

To Sum It All Up ...

Decorating a bedroom wall can be inexpensive, creative and a great deal of fun. It can be a public expression of a personal idea. Make your bedroom an original piece of art, and make it a place to be proud of.
