A bachelor pad bedroom offers decorating possibilities. Because you don't have to consider a significant other's tastes, you can decorate your bedroom to take advantage of those things in life that you enjoy. It seems simple on the surface, but keep in mind when choosing decor for your bachelor pad bedroom that you may entertaining an overnight guest at some point, so it will help to consider what the decor might tell your guest about you.
Instructions
1. Write down ideas for a theme. A modern theme with black and chrome color accents or a rustic theme are two ideas. Maybe you want a sports theme. Determine a wall color. Neutral colors such as white or brown will work, or something dark, such as blue, green or maroon.
2. Hang artwork on the wall to reflect your bedroom theme or your personality. Artwork featuring jazz musicians, if you like jazz, or instruments and musicians that depict your musical tastes are ideal. Sports-related artwork is another option.
3. Decorate with furniture pieces that are both aesthetically pleasing and offer functionality as well. Not all guys are alike, but many bachelors prefer functionality over looks. If this is you, include a theme-related lamp on the nightstand for reading in bed, a TV and a stereo. Go light on the knickknacks unless you have a collection of something you'd like to display. Display those in a cabinet or on shelves so they are out of the way.
4. Cover your bed with a matching set of sheets, pillowcases and bedspread. It will look better than just a pile of sheets and quilts in the event you do have company. Match the bedding to your bedroom's overall decor -- color, pattern and any theme you choose.
