Decorate a Bedroom With Orange Paint
The decision to paint a bedroom with orange paint shouldn't be made on a whim. Orange can be very beautiful, but also very dominating. In order to look right, this color must be coordinated to the rest of the room decor. In addition, orange is not conducive to peace and relaxation--the primary purpose of a bedroom. However, if you're sure you'd like to paint your room orange, be prepared to put forth the effort required to successfully integrate this color into your decorating scheme.
Instructions
1. Choose at least one color to pair with orange on the walls. The color to use with orange should be a bright neutral like white or cream.
2. Purchase several samples of different shades of orange and the chosen neutral from your local paint store or home improvement store. Paint these samples side by side on your walls and wait for them to dry before selecting the right shade for you.
3. Paint the room in a style that uses both colors you selected for the walls. Because orange is so loud and dark, a ratio of 50 percent orange paint or less is a wise choice. Options include painting stripes alternating between your two colors, painting three walls in one color and a fourth wall with an accent color (in this case, orange), painting polka dots or checker board patterns, or even splatter paint.
4. Choose furniture and accessories to match the shade of orange you've selected. The furniture you choose does not have to stay within the confines of the two colors you've decorated the walls, but all colors should relate to the theme. For example, if your walls are painted orange and white, safe colors to use would be orange and white and accents of blue, because blue is the complement of orange. Or, all furniture and accessories could be white, orange and yellow, because yellow and orange are analogous colors. Even accents of green would work with this color scheme because green and yellow are
