Involve the twins when decorating their room.
It's easy for parents of twins to buy matching outfits because they want to avoid the kids becoming jealous of what the other has. However, when you are decorating their room, you need to consult with your boys. Their bedroom is their personal space and should reflect their individual personalities. It would look best if they chose the same theme but it is possible to combine two ideas in one space.
Instructions
1. Ask the boys separately how they would like their room decorated. They may want the same thing but odds are that they would like two different themes. For example, one may want superheroes, while the other one wants football.
2. Pick one color that will work with both themes and paint the walls. Use colors that will match just about any theme, like white or a deep blue. Paint the room and place a large poster of a superhero (or the choice of one twin) on one side of the room. Stick a decal of a football team (if that's the choice of a twin) on the other side of the room.
3. Purchase comforter sets, window treatments, sports equipment (if applicable), comic books and bean bags.
4. Organize and decorate the room. Hang window treatments. Using the examples of superhero and football as choices, put superhero-covered sheets and a matching comforter on one bed. Cover the other bed with football-themed sheets and a team comforter. Place a wall storage unit along the wall where the two themes connect. Display the comic books and a football or other sport item on the unit to mix the themes. Put the bean bags a few feet in front of the unit. Add the dressers to finish the room. Consider using bunk beds, as they use less space.
