Get creative when you arrange a queen and twin bed in one bedroom.
While not an optimal situation, if you must fit a queen bed and a twin bed in one bedroom, you can do so with a little creative rearranging. Assess the bedroom features and the essential furniture, and eliminate additional furniture unless it is absolutely necessary. By choosing the locations of the beds first, you can then decide what other furniture fits in the space and create a livable and enjoyable bedroom atmosphere.
Instructions
1. Measure the dimensions of the bedroom with the tape measure, and write the dimensions down. The queen bed has dimensions of at least 60 inches-by-80 inches, and the twin bed has dimensions of at least 39 inches-by-75 inches. Determine where these beds will best fit in the room.
2. Note the location of windows and doors because this will determine where the furniture can go in the room. Consider the natural traffic path in the room -- between the doorway and the closet, for example, so you can avoid placing beds in this area.
3. Place the queen bed in the room first because of its size. If possible, place the queen bed in a corner with one side of the bed along a wall and the head of the bed along the perpendicular wall.
4. Place the twin bed in the room in another corner. If space permits, place the twin bed perpendicular to the queen bed in another corner. This means a side edge of the twin bed will be parallel to the foot of the queen bed. Another option is to place the twin bed parallel to the queen bed in the opposite corner. Allow ample space to walk between the beds.
