Unclog A Double Bathroom Sink

If both sinks in your double-basin sink appear to be clogged, it is best to work on one sink at a time -- plugging up the other sink. This prevents the trapped water and clog removal solution from bubbling up into the other sink, as they share a single drain pipe. You can avoid using harsh chemicals on the sinks by creating a natural clog removing solution from baking soda and vinegar. The process is simple, though it may take a few repeated applications depending on the severity of the clog.

Instructions

1. Completely close the drain of one of the sinks. If you cannot close the drain, stuff a rag in the opening. Open the other drain.

2. Pour 1 cup of baking soda down the open sink drain.

3. Pour 1 cup of vinegar down the open sink drain. Close the drain and wait 15 to 30 minutes.

4. Boil a pot of water while waiting for the baking soda and vinegar solution to help dislodge the clog.

5. Open the drain on the sink with the baking soda/vinegar solution. Pour the boiling water down the drain.

6. Repeat the process for the opposite sink.
