Mount An Undermount Bathroom Sink On Marble

Undermount Sink

A marble countertop in your bathroom can give an elegant appearance to the space. An undermount sink offers the added benefit of keeping the counter looking clean and uncluttered. An undermount sink allows you to push water and debris straight into the sink from the counter, without worrying about things collecting under the rim of the sink.

The easiest way to install an undermount sink with a marble vanity top is to install the sink and then the vanity top with the sink attached.

Instructions

1. Flip the marble vanity top upside down, so that its top is resting on the floor or another level surface. You may wish to place a towel or cloth beneath it to avoid scratching the top.

2. Apply a bead of silicone adhesive around the opening of the sink cutout, center the sink over the cutout and press it into place.

3. Install the sink's mounting hardware, which should be included with the purchase of every sink. Install the screw stems to the marble first by applying a small bead of epoxy to the marble and pressing the stem in place. Allow the epoxy to cure for 10 minutes. Then install the mounting clips to the sink by applying a small bead of epoxy to the sink and pressing the clip to the sink.

4. Tighten the mounting clips to the stems once the epoxy has had time to cure by using a wrench. Don't overtighten, as this could harm the marble; you want them snug not tight.
