Luckily, there are ways to reupholster your dining chairs for little to no cost. Here are some examples of reupholster dining chairs on a budget.
Instructions
Reupholster Dining Chairs on Budget
1. Find fabrics. You don't have to buy fabrics for this project. you can use clothes that no longer fit, old curtains, fabric scraps, pieces of old blankets that you love, towels -- whatever you have around the house that you think would look good on your chair. If nothing jumps out at you, try the thrift store. Look for sheets, curtains, shirts, dresses--anything that matches your decor.
2. Remove the seat of your chair by taking out the screws that hold it to the chair frame. Keep the screws. You will need them to reattach the seat later.
3. Lay your fabric face down on a flat surface and place your seat face down on top of it. Pull the fabric up over the sides so it covers the entire front and about 2 inches of the back of the chair. Cut off any excess fabric.
4. Use your staple gun to attach the new fabric to the back of the chair. Make sure to pull the fabric tight so it doesn't bunch, wrinkle or slide when you sit on the chair. Trim away any excess fabric that sticks out above the staples.
5. Reattach your seat to your chair with the screws you removed and enjoy your newly reupholstered chair.
