Create The Frame For A Bathroom Mirror

Frame your bathroom mirror.

Many homes have a simple bathroom mirror glued to the wall above the bathroom sink. Although they are functional, these mirrors are not substantial or attractive-looking. Creating a frame for the bathroom mirror will give your mirror a custom look without a lot of cost. The process of creating a frame for your bathroom will not take more than a few hours and can be completed in as a weekend project.

Instructions

1. Measure the perimeter of the mirror with a measuring tape. Take these measurements with you when you purchase the molding for your mirror.

2. Paint or stain the molding of your choice with a paintbrush. Doing this before you adhere the frame to the mirror is a good idea because it is much easier to paint a frame on a table than it is to paint a frame on the wall. Allow the finish to dry for two or three days.

3. Mark the measurements of the mirror onto the molding with a pencil. Indicate on the molding the direction of the 45-degree angle that will need to be cut. Each end of every piece of the frame will be cut on a 45-degree angle.

4. Set the miter saw to a 45-degree angle in the indicated direction on your molding. Place the molding flat on the table of the miter saw. Cut the molding to size. Repeat with all of the molding for the mirror frame.

5. Apply a small amount of clear epoxy glue to the back of the molding. Stick the molding to the perimeter of the mirror to create the frame. Use masking tape to hold the molding in place while the glue dries. Do not apply too much glue or it will run down the front of the mirror and will be very difficult (if not impossible) to remove.
