Make A Dining Table Out Of Large Flower Pots

Furniture created from assorted objects almost always makes for a conversation piece if it doesn't find its way to the local art gallery. Create your own noteworthy new tables from existing materials like large flower pots. Often used for housing small trees, large flower pots come in terra cotta, fiberglass, composite concrete or metal. Tables made from large terra cotta planters give you the option of painting and decorating, while tables made from fiberglass planters are easy to move.

Instructions

1. Use terra cotta, metal or fiberglass flower pots that are at least 2 1/2 feet high for a good-sized table. Use two to four pots, depending on how large you want the table to be. Whatever you decide, the pots should be on either end of the table you are creating.

2. Place the pots face down in your work area and cover the bottoms, which are now the tops, of each pot with wood glue.

3. Place a piece of particle board that is a little wider than the width of the pots over the pots. The board should come out past where the pots are situated so there is leg room on either end. Allow the glue to dry for about a half hour, then decorate and use the table as desired.
