Yellow Bedroom Ideas

Use white molding to accent yellow walls.

Create a cheerful yellow bedroom by using yellow furnishings, wallpaper and paint. If you are uneasy with the idea of a bright yellow bedroom, use pale shades. The Better Homes and Garden website recommends moving to the "bold end of the yellow spectrum for a real punch." Don't be afraid to bring yellow into your bedroom. It is up to you whether you go with a light or bright shade of yellow.

Chocolate Furnished

Cover the walls with yellow damask wallpaper. Place a chocolate brown four-poster bed along one wall in the room. Add white sheets with a chocolate brown trim to the bed, and lay a yellow blanket across the foot of the bed. Place matching chocolate side tables on each side of the bed with white lamps. On the wall facing the bed, mount a large chocolate brown framed mirror.

Flowers On The Wall

Paint the room in an egg yolk yellow. Turn one wall into an accent wall by using a lighter shade of yellow. Paint wall-sized white and black flowers on the accent wall. Place a bed with a black headboard in the room along with a black dresser and side table. Hang black curtains around the bed to block out the bright room at bedtime. On the empty walls, hang white framed black and white photos.

Yellow, Green and Blue

Paint the walls a pale yellow color and hang banana yellow drapes around the windows. Put a black platform bed and a black desk in the room. Place a bright blue chair in front of the desk. Mount large, white cube shelving units on one of the walls. Fill the cubes with bold green and blue knickknacks. Lay a bold green rug on the floor next to the bed. Cover the bed with a white comforter with bright blue, green and yellow geometric designs.

Yellow Furniture

Furnish a white-walled bedroom with a yellow dresser, a yellow canopy bed, a yellow side table and a yellow armoire. Hang yellow framed photos on the walls. Cover the bed with a bright yellow comforter and place a bright yellow rug on the floor.

Panels

Paint the room yellow, and stamp the top half of the room with ivory colored trees. Panel the bottom half of the walls with ivory paneling. Place a round, yellow side table next to the bed and a glass lamp on top of the table. Hang ivory curtains around the window. Cover the bed with an ivory and yellow comforter.
