Rubber duckies are cute accessories for a small bathroom.
The bathroom space in a trailer home is not always the most appealing or spacious. Make the most of your cozy space with a cute theme that will put a smile on your face each morning. Whether you want to embrace the history and culture of trailer-living or simply want to design a colorful space that makes you happy, you can complete a trailer bathroom decorating project in a day or less.
Going Classic
Pay homage to the classic mobile homes of the past. Cover the walls with a silver-striped wallpaper and paint the cabinetry and trim white to add brightness to the space. Use silver picture frames to showcase vintage mobile home advertising for the classic Airstream trailer home. Hang up small art prints featuring black and white images of trailer homes and trailer home campgrounds during the heyday of caravan clubs. Enhance the look with silverfish gray towels and a half-size rug to complete the look.
Rubber Ducky
It's hard to have a bad day when you start it in a bathroom covered with cheerful rubber duckies. Traditional rubber duckies are cute, but you have lots of options in rubber ducky attire and attitude so choose some duckies that appeal to you the most. Place an actual rubber ducky on the vanity or attach small ones to the mirror with hook-and-loop peel-and-stick tape as a border. Enhance the look by painting one wall a bright yellow and then using photographs of rubber duckies to decorate the other wall. Toss a fluffy yellow area rug on the floor to make the room complete. Use small decorative items so the tiny space doesn't feel even more closed in.
Submarine
A trailer home bathroom, especially an older one, features a small bathroom reminiscent of something a sailor might use aboard a navy vessel or submarine, so why not take that feeling further and decorate the bathroom with an underwater theme. If the bathroom has a window, cover it with a round "porthole" frame to begin the transformation. Paint the room in various shades of blue, including a wavy-waterline on the wall with the window. Cover the doorway with steel-sheeting or spray paint it with steel-colored paint to play up the submarine look. Finally, add some vintage images of sailors in uniform aboard ships of all kinds to complete the space.
Polka Dots
Trailers with retro-colored fixtures of pink or green can benefit from a cute polka dot theme in the bathroom. Embrace the color of your sink and toilet by painting the walls in the bathroom a much paler shade of the same color. Add large peel and stick graphic polka dots to the walls. The dots can match the fixture color or can be coordinating colors or a plain black. The use of large polka dots in the room gives the room a fun retro feel that will appeal to friends and family. Use crisp white linens to make the space feel super fresh and fun.
