Make Use Of A Small Bedroom Space

To make good use of a small bedroom, all available space must be put to work, from the walls to the closet to the space under the bed. Organization becomes paramount in a small space, because clutter will only make the room seem more cramped. From the colors you use to the type of furniture you choose, your decorating decisions can make a big difference.

Instructions

1. Empty the bedroom of all furniture, decor and other items so that the new layout is easy to plan and visualize. Keep only basic and necessary furniture to save space in the small room.

2. Choose a new paint color for the bedroom. Bright colors like yellow and light blue make the room feel larger than it is by making the space feel lighter.

3. Organize new furniture for the bedroom. Choose a bed that allows storage underneath or has built-in drawers or shelves.

4. Hang shelving or small cabinets on the wall to use the room's vertical space for storing books, knickknacks or other items.

5. Store offseason clothing in plastic bins underneath the bed. This may eliminate the need for a dresser in the room.

6. Use a closet organizer to make the most of the space and add an over-the-door rack for shoes to keep them organized and off the closet floor, which can then be used to store other items.
