By the time a little girl is 4-years-old, she has likely developed her own personality, along with some specific likes and dislikes. Therefore, you can decorate her room in a way that reflects her, rather than in simply a generic style. Talk to her about the kinds of things that she likes and might like to see in her bedroom before getting started on the design.
Movies or Television
Take inspiration from the young girl's favorite television show or movie characters. For example, if she loves princesses, go all out by painting the room pink and decorating with tiaras and princess pictures. Another young girl might enjoy a classic cartoon character such as Minnie Mouse. Whatever she likes, use those colors and images to decorate the room.
Garden
Transform her room into a garden space if she likes flowers and playing outdoors. Paint the walls pale green and stencil flowers and leaves all over the walls.
