Decorate A Man'S Bedroom

Decorate a Man's Bedroom

A man's bedroom tends to be utilitarian to the point of barreness. It is often extremely spartan, with little more than a bed, a television and maybe a chest of drawers. However, with a little effort, you can transform a bedroom into a fully decorated room without losing the appeal of masculine simplicity.

Instructions

Decorate a Man's Bedroom

1. Use matching curtains and a comforter to bring a theme to the room. These colors should be warm and easy to match, such as reds, browns or dark golds. Not only will they hide wear, but they will also be easy to match with slipcovers or throw pillows.

2. Place a long bench or trunk at the foot of the bed. This will make the bed seem a little more finished, especially if you do not have a headboard and footboard. Also, a trunk is a good place to hide things in a hurry if you need to clean up unexpectedly.

3. Put your hamper in the corner of the room where you can easily toss clothes. This will make it easier to keep things organized and hide dirty clothes from sight.

4. Cover the seating with slip covers that match the curtains and comforter. They don't have to be the same pattern, but they should be in the same color scheme. This will help tie the room together.

5. Place the floor lamp in the corner of the room. This will enable you to have sufficient lighting for conversation or reading without having to use harsh overhead lights. It can also help set the mood if you cover it with a red scarf.

6. Hang the wall art. Do not use more than one or two pieces. This will give your walls some character but not make your room feel cluttered. Mirrors can help a room feel larger.
