Decorate A Country Bedroom

The country decor is cozy and inviting.

Bedrooms are the most personal rooms in your home, but this doesn’t mean they should go without style. They are one of the best rooms to decorate with the country style, which emphasizes comfort and relaxation. You can design a country decor that is warm and inviting once you know use fabrics, colors and objects together to create a harmonious look.

Instructions

1. Create harmony with the right color palette for your bedroom. Country styles lend themselves to colors that are generally soft and muted. Choose colors that complement each other and will make you feel comfortable. Select a favorite color and use light floral patterns or plaids to emphasize that color. For example, you may want to choose a blue and green plaid print for window treatments to complement the floral pillows you have on your bed. Think of colors you might see in a quilt for a good sense of what colors to choose.

2. Use window treatments that do not draw too much attention to themselves. Avoid shiny fabrics or fabrics that have a contemporary print, such as geometric shapes. Go with fabrics that blend in with your d cor and give the room a sense of unity. Simple sheers and panels of fabric may be all you need to enhance your look.

3. Choose furniture that suits your style. Mission style and antique furniture work well with the color palette of country decorating. Distressed or iron furniture is another option. Wicker furniture plays off the notion of comfort and ease.

4. Select pieces for style and comfort. The country style is all about comfort and with the country style, you can go with big fluffy comforters, cushions and pillows. If you have the room, find an overstuffed chair and ottoman to fill a corner for a relaxing bedroom retreat. Another idea is a rocking chair with a soft cushion.

5. Mix antiques with modern accents. Hang framed linen samplers or a grouping of old frames on your wall. Use lace table runners and doilies to add texture to your room. Place scented candles on an old plate. Take time to find old perfume bottles or tins that will give your room a special touch.
