Design A Musicthemed Bedroom

Design a Music-Themed Bedroom

From classical piano music to hard rock concerts, the music theme works well in bedrooms for both young and old. A musical bedroom allows you to tailor the details to fit the specific musical interests of the room's inhabitant. Older children who request a music theme can take part in the planning and decorating process, making it a more customized bedroom once the paintbrushes are put away.

Instructions

1. Empty the room to start with a clean slate. Measure the room's length and width. Measure any closets or other areas in the room that stick out and take up floor space.

2. Place the large pieces of furniture in the room. Locate the furniture in a place that makes the best flow in the room.

3. Pick a color scheme for the room. The music theme lends itself well to nearly any color palette so consider the tastes of the person who will use the bedroom.

4. Paint the walls based on the room's color scheme. Paint large staff lines around the middle of the room with black paint. Add musical notes to the music staff. You can also paint musical notes randomly around the walls above and below the staff lines.

5. Mount a musical instrument, frame sheet music or hang musically themed pictures to decorate the walls in the bedroom. Band posters are another simple option for decorating the walls.

6. Purchase a musically-themed bedding set. You can also choose a solid colored bedding set and use music-themed pillows as accents.

7. Designate a music playing area based on the child's interests. For musicians, create a stage area marked by an area rug. Include a music stand and microphone. For those who enjoy listening to music, set up a stereo lounge area that allows them to listen to favorite tunes.
