Make Your Own Bedroom Wallpaper

Use gift wrap as wallpaper.

People often find themselves in a situation where they have to decorate a room with very little money. There are a number of ways to do this, such as looking for bargains at the local thrift store or refinishing the floors rather than replacing them. But one problem comes when they want to do something with the walls. Both paint and wallpaper can cost a great deal. But it is possible to make your own wallpaper out of cheap, dollar store gift wrap paper, and the results can be surprisingly impressive.

Instructions

1. Measure the room that you want to wallpaper to determine how many square feet of paper you will need.

2. Purchase a sufficient number of rolls of gift wrap paper to to cover the walls, plus 30 percent more for loss, since you will easily tear this as you are putting it up.

3. Cut the pieces you will need from the paper and lay them out flat on the floor for easy access and placement. You want to cut them and arrange them so that the design will as much as possible overlap.

4. Apply a thin coat of basic white paste glue to the first section of wall. Now one person should lift the wallpaper to the section of wall.

5. Have a second person press down gently with a yardstick from top to bottom to adhere the wallpaper to the wall. Then he should go over it again to get any bubbles out.

6. Repeat this process with the other sections, making sure to align the pieces carefully. Allow the wall to dry.
