Updating your bedroom decor can create a fresh room you enjoy being in without costing a small fortune. Look for things you already have that you can repurpose with a "Hello Kitty" design or theme to turn your bedroom into a "Hello Kitty" palace without spending any money or buying anything new. A few well-placed themed items will establish your "Hello Kitty" theme while giving you the freedom to update the room again when you desire, without throwing away a bunch of money.
Instructions
1. Paint the walls of the room pink or white if possible. Cover the walls with pink fabric or leave them bare if painting is not an option.
2. Update your old bedroom furniture by painting all the pieces light pink or white, or stenciling a "Hello Kitty" design directly onto the headboard. Use pink lipstick to draw an image of the kitten or a big pink bow on your mirror.
3. Use any "Hello Kitty" blankets or sheets you already have, or stick with solid white, pink or purple. Create your own curtains, duvet cover or throw pillows by sewing "Hello Kitty" sheets, fabric or T-shirts together over an existing comforter or pillow.
4. Hang "Hello Kitty" posters or pictures on the walls using old frames. Make your own by drawing on poster board or framing colored pictures from a "Hello Kitty" coloring book. Create a collage of "Hello Kitty" images from magazines, advertisements or packaging materials themed merchandise came in.
5. Accessorize your bedroom with any "Hello Kitty" merchandise you already own. Display figurines, plush pillows, jewelry boxes or T-shirts on the wall, and put out any other themed items or toys you have -- without crowding. Any pink, white or girly items that complement the theme can work as accessories.
6. Stick "Hello Kitty" stickers on your furniture, picture frames, trash can, dresser knobs or other surfaces if you have permission to do so.
