Tuscan Remodeling Ideas For A Master Bathroom

Remodeling your bathroom into a Tuscan-style bathroom has a variety of options.

The Tuscan decorating style consists of warm colors and wrought iron accessories that are influenced from the romantic ambiance in Tuscany, Italy. Rich wood is highlighted throughout the bathroom and enhances the visual appeal of the bathroom. Depending on the size of your master bathroom, there is a lot that can be done with this space in terms of remodeling for a Tuscan style.

Paint

When remodeling your bathroom into a Tuscan-style bathroom, painting is going to be the simplest task. Choose a warm color such as a burnt or terra cotta orange and gold as your main colors. Painting the walls these colors add depth to the other accents that are added to the bathroom. You can also use hints of green and blue as accents on the trim or designs on the walls.

Flooring

If you currently have carpet flooring in your bathroom, it is time to pull it up and replace it with something that has more of an Italian feel to it. Use marble flooring or a stone-like tile as your new flooring to enhance the Tuscan style of your bathroom. If you are in the mood to splurge, purchase some natural stone as your flooring as this will definitely create a feel of a Tuscan bathroom.

Furniture and Accessories

If your master bathroom has a sitting area or is large enough to support furniture, purchase a small bench or settee with warm colors and accented rich woods, if possible. Go with a style that is simple, yet elegant with the right colors. When choosing accessories, make sure to purchase greenery, faux or real, and set on top of your vanity, above the toilet and in the corners of your bathroom.

Fixtures

If you do not have wrought-iron or brushed nickel fixtures, such as towel racks or faucets, this is a must for the Tuscan theme. This gives your Tuscan bathroom an old-world feel and only adds to the warmth of the room. Also consider installing a bidet beside your toilet as this is common to Italian homes; a bidet is used to cleanse yourself after using the bathroom but is also used to wash your feet.

Artwork

If your wall has the space, purchase a nice piece of Italian or Italian-influenced artwork for your Tuscany-style master bathroom. Make sure the colors in the painting or piece of art matches the rest of your bathroom. If it does not match completely, at least make sure the colors compliment each other. The last thing you want to do is purchase artwork you really like but that does not go well with the bathroom. If necessary, begin with the piece of art you know will go well in your bathroom and build the colors in your bathroom around the artwork.
