The TV in
Many people like to have a television set in their bedroom. If you have a particularly bright bedroom, such as one that gets a lot of natural sunlight, an LCD TV might be the best option. LCD TVs are ultra-thin and don't take up as much space as other television types, and they display high screen resolution. With a little more knowledge, you can choose the ideal LCD TV for your bedroom.
Instructions
1. Figure out the best placement for your LCD TV in your bedroom. LCD TVs have distorted and lower quality picture when viewed at an angle. It's important to set up the TV directly in front of the viewing area, such as right in front of your bed. Knowing where you will place the TV will help you choose the proper size for your bedroom.
2. Measure your space. Before you choose an LCD TV, you need to know how much space you have to install it in. Take length and width measurements to be sure it will fit. Take distance measurements to ensure the screen size doesn't strain your eyes. Factor into your calculations whether you might lie forward on the bed to watch the LCD TV. A viewing distance chart is located in the Resources section.
3. Set a budget for your LCD TV purchase for your bedroom. This type of television can range in price from about $350 to about $3,000, depending on how large of a screen you choose.
4. Check for the matte screen feature. This feature of LCD TVs reduces glare and reflections on the screen, which can be useful in a bedroom with lots of natural light or if the lights in the room are not located overhead.
5. Look at the resolution for the LCD TV you're considering. Resolution is more important if you plan to sit closer to the screen, such as at the front of the bed, rather than the back. You can choose between 720p or 1080p resolution. The larger resolution offers higher picture quality, with the exception of smaller screens, such as 32 inches, where the difference is negligible.
