Decorate a LEGO Bedroom
LEGOs are plastic bricks and other pieces used to build and create. There are numerous LEGO themes that would fit nicely with existing bedroom themes, but you can let your creativity run wild and design a little piece of the LEGO universe in your own house.
Instructions
1. Choose a theme. LEGO has some existing theme sets that are very popular, such as pirates, Star Wars, animals, Atlantis (underwater), princess, cities/towns, and Toy Story. You may find that some of these themes work well with non-LEGO products. For instance, Star Wars bedding would fit in a LEGO Star Wars room.
2. Paint your room. Even the most untrained artist can paint a ceiling dark blue for a night sky (Star Wars LEGOs), or one wall light blue on top for sky and dark blue below for the sea (pirate LEGOs), or green hills and blue sky (castle and princess LEGOS). Add decals of castles, ships, or buildings depending on your theme. If you have more skill, draw details like buildings, ships, and mini-figures (the LEGO people) on your wall.
3. Choose your furniture. Consider colors and shapes that match . Castle and pirate beds are easy to find for kids. LunaBlocks even makes life-size LEGO-shaped blocks you can use to build your own furniture. If you are using existing furniture, consider re-covering or re-painting items to match your theme.
4. Choose bedding and curtains. Department stores will have general themes, or you may choose to go with a color palette that matches your LEGO theme. For a general LEGO room choose red, yellow, and white colors to match the LEGO logo.
5. Create an area for display. All LEGO enthusiasts need a place to show their best creations. For a teen or adult room, add a high shelf where delicate creations are safe. For children, create a LEGO play area. Any table will do fine. The tops of storage/book shelves can act as display areas. There are many choices of LEGO storage containers.
6. Use LEGO creations to finish the decor. Hang a completed LEGO Millennium Falcon from the ceiling for a Star Wars theme, or build a LEGO city skyline on book shelves in front of a wall painted to look like the night sky. LEGOs can also be used as lamp bases (if you use a lamp kit to build the rest of the lamp), bookends, or to spell out names. The great thing about LEGOs is when you get bored, you can change it!
