A round dining table owns an intimate feel, no matter its material. A made of glass adds fantastic lightness to room design. A table fashioned of clear glass possesses light-reflecting qualities that cannot be rivaled by even mirror-finish steel or aluminum. A frosted conveys a sense of wonderment to a space. Sepia-tinted glass adds a note of stability without adding weight to the design. Though a round glass table affords room for an extra diner or two, when your guest list lengthens further, the table needs extending.
Instructions
Table with Extender Leaf
1. Coax one half of the table away from the other. If the round glass table is small enough, you may be able to gently separate the two halves on your own. If it is not, seek the aid of another person.
2. Settle the leaf into the exposed area between the two halves of the table.
3. Nudge the table halves inward to shut any gaps.
Non-Extension Table
4. Measure the height and diameter of the table to make sure the folding table is the right size.
5. Place the portable table so it abuts the round table.
6. Place a tablecloth across both tables to conceal the gap. The tablecloth should be long enough to cover both tables and wide enough for at least six inches of overhang on either side.
7. Warn diners about the makeshift extension. Even a slight variation in table height can lead to spills or , injury, so inform diners of the location of the gap between the two tables.
