Instructions
1. Mount any electronic equipment to the wall. Install a swivel mounting unit for a flat-screen television set to the wall and attach the television. Place open shelving underneath or one large shelf to hold a DVD player, game console, stereo equipment and collection of DVDs or CDs.
2. Attach lighting units to your wall. Add wall sconces by your bed to replace a reading lamp and remove the need for a night stand. Set up mood lighting by stringing Christmas lights along the top of the wall, the edge of the shelves or around the plants.
3. Find cantilevered cabinets that match the decor of your bedroom. Hang a mirror above the cabinets to create your own vanity table. Place makeup, hair supplies, perfumes and jewelry inside the console for additional storage.
4. Design an artistic display and create storage by the use of modular or floating shelves. Stack trophies, pictures, books, hats or purses on the shelves as you display the items. Add some covered storage with baskets or decorated boxes.
5. Steal wasted wall space back. Build a wall of shelves on the side of and over the top of the window. Store extra-large items used seasonally on the upper shelves, while you display candles and collections on the others.
