When determining at what height you should mount your bathroom mirror, it is important to keep a few things in mind. The first is the height of the people who will be using the mirror every day. Because most of us do the majority of our grooming in the bathroom, it is important that every family member be able to see clearly up to and above the top of his or her head. Younger family members may need a mirror that is mounted lower as they learn to brush their own teeth and hair and keep their faces clean.
A second consideration is the height of the bathroom countertops and the height of the ceiling. Raise and lower the mirror until he or she can see most or all of his or her body, including shoes. When the proper amount of the body can be seen in the mirror, measure the distance from the floor to the bottom of the mirror. This will be the distance up from the floor that the bottom of the mirror should be mounted.
