Mold thrives in a bathroom's high moisture conditions.
Mold thrives in moist places. Bathroom conditions differ from the environment found in most rooms as water can splash upward and settle in the nooks and crannies of textured ceilings. In addition, the steam from hot showers can condense on the ceiling if the bathroom door is shut and no adequate ventilation exists. Mold creeping across the bathroom ceiling is unsightly, but, more importantly, it is a possible heath hazard. Remove the invader as soon as it is noticed to prevent it from spreading.
Instructions
1. Pour white vinegar into a spray bottle. Do not dilute the vinegar with water.
2. Set up a step ladder to reach the mold. Position the step ladder just to the side of the mold rather than directly underneath.
3. Put on protective goggles.
4. Climb the ladder and spray the mold with the vinegar. Angle the spray away from you to prevent the vinegar from dripping on your face.
5. Allow the vinegar to sit for 15 to 20 minutes. Spray more vinegar on the mold to keep it moistened, if necessary.
6. Scrub the ceiling vigorously with a nylon brush. Continue scrubbing until all the mold is removed.
7. Rinse the ceiling with a clean rag dampened in warm, soapy water. Dry the ceiling immediately after.
