Framing the
Instructions
1. Draw a rough diagram of the mirror on a sheet of white paper. Measure the top and bottom of the mirror--the width--with measuring tape. Add these measurements to the top and bottom of the mirror on paper. Measure each side of the bathroom mirror--the height--and write these measurements down on the diagram as well.
2. Order your custom mirror frame online or in home improvement stores. Give the mirror measurements to the associate, or fill-in the online form at the mirror framing kit store.
3. Replace the bathroom mirror's big clips with the kit's included smaller mirror clips. Unscrew each old mirror clip, one at a time, with a screwdriver. Screw the new smaller mirror clips in place after you remove the old clips.
4. Clean the mirror with window cleaner to remove all dirt, smudges or oils that may be on the glass.
5. Place the four pieces of the mirror frame on a flat surface, with decorative side facing down. Match up each four corners with the corresponding frame piece. Most framing kits will label their pieces with 1, 2, 3, 4 or A, B, C, D.
6. Tighten the corner joints and screw the pieces together with the framing kit's included screws and a screwdriver.
7. Enlist a friend or family member to hold the mirror frame in place over the bathroom mirror to test for fit. Remove the frame and set aside.
8. Refer to the framing kit's included instructions for epoxy glue placement. Most frames will adhere to the bathroom mirror by placing quarter-sized dots of the included two-part epoxy glue onto the bathroom mirror glass. Glue placement will be on the bottom and both sides of the mirror glass, evenly spaced apart.
9. Place the mirror frame back over the mirror glass with the included top frame hooks fitting over the top of the bathroom mirror edge. Using your helper, apply pressure to the frame over the glue locations. Keep this pressure applied to the frame over the mirror until the
10. Remove your hands from the mirror slowly, while watching for frame displacement. Apply further pressure if mirror frame pulls away from the bathroom mirror.
