Reface A Bedroom Dresser

Change the look of an old dresser with a little paint and new knobs.

If you have an old wood bedroom dresser that needs a little rejuvenation, then consider changing the entire look with a little paint and new hardware. You can purchase paint and hardware from a home refurbishing store for discounted prices. You also may need a few tools -- such as a screwdriver -- to take off the old dresser knobs and put on the new.

Instructions

1. Spread out a tarp outside on a flat surface. Place the dresser on top of the tarp.

2. Smooth the rough spots on your dresser with a little sandpaper. Because you will be painting the dresser, you do not need to worry if part of the paint already on the dresser comes off while you are sanding.

3. Brush off the residue from sanding.

4. Take off the knobs on the dresser with a screwdriver. Set aside. Pull out the drawers of the dresser and spread out on the tarp.

5. Paint the dresser in a color you like. Allow all the drawers to dry before replacing them in the dresser.

6. Place the new knobs on the dresser using the screwdriver.
