Romantic Decor Ideas For A Master Bedroom

Romantic bedrooms feature soft fabrics, rich colors and lacy curtains. These rooms are elegant yet sophisticated. Specific decor pieces such as old-fashioned mirrors or antiques work well in romantic bedrooms. Select colors that suit you and your partner's interests. Canopy beds and fabrics such as lace and silk also blend well in a romantic master bedroom.

Purple Passion

Paint all the walls light pastel purple, but leave the ceiling white. Install white crown molding along the border of your room to create a more elegant finished look. Add decor pieces that accent the purple such as silver mirrors and picture frames. Fill the room with white or burgundy (cherry wood) furniture. Both colors work well with a pastel room. If you choose light colored furniture, off-set this with bedding in dark purple. However, if your furniture is dark choose lighter pastel purple bedding. Hang dried roses on the four corners of your bed. If you have a canopy, use soft fabrics in darker colors to contrast against the light walls.

Paint one large accent wall red and leave all the other remaining walls and ceiling white. Place your bed up against the red wall. Choose lighter-colored bedding such as pink, white or cream to off-set the red. Hang a large framed photo of a white rose on the red wall above your bed. The red wall will make the white rose stand out. Frame photos of red roses on two or more of the other white walls in the room. Include additional romantic accents such as dried red and white flowers in vases and old-fashioned antiques such as a small vanity table with a mirror.
