Behave In A Public Bathroom

Public Bathrooms aren’t exactly places that people like going into. They usually smell and germs are everywhere. It’s made worse by those that aren’t conscious of the fact that others are going to be using it as well. Before you go into a public bathroom, here are some tips on behave so that the experience of using the restroom isn’t so bad for those that follow after you.

Instructions

1. Clean the area when you’re finished. When you leave the stall, make sure that you wipe down the toilet seat and throw out any paper that you dropped on the floor. Also, if you put any makeup on at the mirror, wipe up anything that may have fallen on the counter.

2. Flush the toilet. While this may seem obvious, there are still those that don’t do it. No one wants to know what you went into the bathroom to do. Before you step foot out the door, make sure that the toilet flushed and it did so properly.

3. Let pregnant women and the elderly go ahead of you. It may be more difficult for some of them to wait to use the bathroom. When you get to the head of the line, tell them that they can go in front of you.

4. Don’t cut in line. If you see someone standing in front of you, don’t try to sneak your way in and dodge to the first open door. Ask first if they are waiting, then wait your turn. Other people have to go too, so if they can wait then so can you.

5. Leave when you’re finished. There are quite a few people that finish what they’re doing and still stay in there to have a conversation with someone else. Bathrooms are small and can be crowded, so to make it less so, those who want to talk to each other should do it in another room.

6. Throw trash in the garbage can. When you wash your hands and use a sheet of paper towel to dry them off, toss it in the trash can instead of on the sink, or even worse, on the floor.

7. Pass someone toilet paper if they need it. Surprisingly, there are people that hear someone else call out for this and they don’t respond, even if they’re the only other person in there at the time. There’s nothing worse then being stuck without toilet paper after it’s already too late.
