Bedroom Makeover Games For Teens

A place to hang out.

Teenagers are trying to discover who they are, and one way many like to explore identity is through the way they decorate their bedrooms. Even small changes can make a big difference when it comes to room decor. And when it comes to teen rooms, there are plenty of ways to have fun in the process.

"Shui" It Like You Mean It

Make your room harmonious.

Study up on the art of feng shui. Use the principles of this art to position furniture with purpose--whether you're looking for harmony, health, money or love. See how many sections of your room you can change so that they follow the rules of feng shui. This can also be a fun competition between two siblings with different rooms, or two siblings sharing the same room and working on their own sides.

Theme Spirit

You can create a canopy made out of a kite.

Choose an outrageous theme and make a list of things that encompass the idea. For instance, if your theme is reality TV, you might list your favorite shows, their locations, celebrities who come to mind and what colors you often see on these shows. Choose tangible things from your list and incorporate them into your room. If you love "Survivor," you can adorn your bedposts with tiki torches. If your favorite is "American Idol," you might choose to put a karaoke machine and microphone on one side of the room and use a futon for a bed so that you can fold it up during the day and use it as seating for your judges.

Budget Game

Charge it to my mom.

Give your teen a specific amount of money to work with to make over her bedroom. Agree beforehand on whether you'll allow her to paint the walls, but keep in mind that painting and prep can be costly and timing consuming. Stick to accessories, accent furniture and wall art. Have your teenager price the items she wants and prioritize her budget before she begins shopping to get the most out of the money.
