Good Ideas For A Bedroom With 2 Kids

Kids who share a room can both have space to enjoy.

Kids who share a room can feel frustrated by their lack of space and contrary ideas about how the room should look. Fortunately, there are a number of easy ways to decorate a bedroom for two kids that will please everyone, parents included. Choosing a room decoration for two kids can be fun.

Bunk Beds

Make a bunk bed the central feature of the room. This will give the room much more space for desks, toys and storage for both kids who share the room. Additionally, a bunk bed creates a personal space where each child can have some privacy. Choose a bunk bed that fits in the room and leaves space for other activities for the two kids to ensure that they will both enjoy using their bedroom.

Complementary Colors

Have the kids choose two complementary colors for their room, such as orange and blue or yellow and green. Paint the walls using those complementary colors, and choose bedding, decorations and accessories for each child with the colors in mind. This will create a color-coordinated bedroom in which each child knows which item is hers, while creating a room that looks as though it was decorated professionally. Use complementary colors to create a room both kids will enjoy.

Themed Room

Allow the kids to pick a theme for their room. Sports, horses and dancing are common themes kids like for their rooms. Decorate the room around this theme, and allow the kids to choose art, accessories and bedding that show the theme of the room. This will give the kids control over the decor and allow you to create a good decorating scheme that can be updated as the kids grow older.
