Home design has become a popular fascination with many girls. The Learning Channel, or TLC, features many different home and bedroom design shows. Contestants on these shows get an unlimited budget from TLC as well as dozens of helpers moving their furniture and designing their rooms. Online bedroom design games can give your girls a chance to play these games at home.
'Bedroom Decoration'
Bedroom design games should have simple and elegant control schemes so that players can focus on the design and not on figuring out complex controls. "Bedroom Design" has a very intuitive control scheme. Players have a small bedroom to design and they can choose from many different pieces of furniture. The first choice is the bed. A menu drops down immediately upon starting the game. Players choose one of three different bed styles. They can then choose their comforter style and their pillow style to finish their bed. Click on the menus to the right-hand side to open up more menus. From these menus you can choose floor color, rug style, chairs, dresser style, table lamps, radios, flowers, wall paper color, window type, floor lamps, ceiling decorations, wall decorations and even pets. Each option has three different choices giving you a wide range of rooms to create.
'Design Your Own Room'
"Design Your Own Room" plays in a similar fashion to "Bedroom Design." However, it features different decorating options and styles. The graphics look more like cartoons than the more realistic "" graphics. Play the game using the mouse. Menus line the bottom of the screen. Clicking on these menus will scroll through the different decorating options. Players can choose chairs, beds, tanning beds, lamps, clocks, book shelves, rugs, pets, paintings, floor color and wall color. There are five styles under each option, giving this game more variety than "Bedroom Design." There are also "themes" that you can create by selecting the right furniture. For example, an all-yellow clown-focused room can be designed. Mix and match the themes to create your own unique look. Share your decoration results with your friends by clicking on the "print" button.
'Room Makeover 2'
"Room Makeover 2" is a little bit different than the other bedroom design games. Players start by choosing the room type. They can choose a round window room or a room with a French door. The menus run along the top of the screen. Players can select walls, beds, details, chairs, tables, storage containers, windows and rugs. A scroll bar underneath these menus lets players change the colors. There are even more design styles under these menu options, giving players a wide diversity of styles. However, this game has one feature that separates it from other bedroom design games: movable furniture. After players select the furniture they want, they can click on it and move it anywhere in the room. Moving the furniture gives player nearly unlimited design options for their room. Players can also share their room style by e-mail or printing.
