3. Cover the windows with shoji screens for privacy; they still allow natural light to filter through. Alternatively, simple shades, such as matchstick or bamboo shades, will allow for privacy and light control while keeping with a natural and simple Asian style.
4. Use a rug made of natural materials, such as sisal, or a rug with an Asian design. Antique oriental rugs are one option or rugs with Asian images.
