Decorate A Big Bedroom With A Tv To Break Up The Space

Use a loveseat or armchairs to create a separate space to watch TV.

Although having a large bedroom can be a great asset, it can also be a challenge to decorate the space. One common solution is to break up the bedroom into two areas. One area can be used for sleeping, while the other area could be used for watching TV, reading or relaxing. When creating separate areas within one room, there are a few key elements to keep in mind to ensure that the space still works as one.

1. Plan out the space. While standing in the bedroom, examine the layout of the room. Determine the best location for the bed and where you could create a separate area to watch TV. Ideally, a bed should be placed on the longest wall farthest from the door and where it does not interfere with traffic flow to a closet or bathroom.

2. Place bedroom furniture. Once you have determined where you will place the bed, add a nightstand on each side of the bed. You could also use a chest or armoire either facing the bed or along a side wall next to it. Your first area within the room should now be complete.

3. Create the sitting area. Once the bedroom furniture is in place, you can create a separate area for watching TV, reading or relaxing. Place two comfortable armchairs or a loveseat in front of the television. If using two armchairs, you can place them at an angle for an appealing look. If you have wood floors, use a rug between the TV and seating. Add a small coffee table in front of the loveseat or nesting tables between the two armchairs.

4. Tie the two spaces together. Although two distinct areas within one room, the two spaces still need to appear cohesive. You can accomplish this through color and accessories. For example, if you have light blue bedding, use blue pillows on the loveseat or chairs. If you are using a dark wood bedroom set, also use a dark wood TV stand or nesting tables. Use similar artwork in both areas.
