Remove Clouded Finish on a Dining Room Table
The word "table" is a derivative of the Latin "tabula," meaning "a board." During the Middle Ages, dining room tables were long trestle tables that included benches; the setup looked like cafeteria tables do today. Some dining rooms were located far from kitchens, even on separate floors. In the 14th century, as people sought more private dinner conversation, they moved from large dining halls to intimate parlors. Today, a dining room is generally one of the smaller rooms in the house and close to the kitchen. A cloudy dining room table is usually caused by wax buildup and can easily be cleaned.
Instructions
1. Apply Vernax to a soft, dry cloth. Get the cloth damp but not soaking wet.
2. Rub the cloth over the entire dining room table in a circular motion.
3. Lay the Vernax-covered cloth aside, and buff the table with a clean, soft, dry cloth. Go with the grain of the wood.
4. Apply carnauba wax to the table with a clean, soft, dry cloth in the same manner as you applied the vernax. This wax will protect the wood and keep it from becoming dehydrated. Once applied, do not wipe it off.
