Bathroom Etiquette

Some bathroom etiquette is just so obvious. However, public restrooms often do pose some questions. Etiquette calls for courtesy, and this should always be remembered. Be neat, be clean, be conscious and you will be acting with good manners.

Cleanliness

Clean up after a trip to the bathroom. Throw away trash, wipe up water around the sink and keep the toilet seat clean and sprinkle-free.

Flush

Always flush and more than once if necessary. Make sure everything goes down.

Quiet

Do not follow a co-worker into the bathroom for business reasons. Quiet is called for in a bathroom. Chit-chat, cell phones and questions can and should wait.

Look

When entering a public stall, always look for feet. Peek before you push and save yourself and others embarrassment.

Hair

When you comb your locks and fix your coif, always check for stray hair that may have fallen. Wipe up fallen loose hair.

Hanging Out

Do what you came to do, then leave. Do not wait for others to finish; let them finish in peace.
