Fix A Clogged Bathroom Sink

Unclog your sink at the first sign of a problem to prevent the clog from worsening.

If you notice the water in your bathroom sink go down slowly, you likely have a clog. Hair, soap and other debris can cause a clog in your bathroom sink. You can use commercial drain cleaners to unclog your bathroom sink; however, these products are often toxic and contain ingredients that are unsafe for people and the environment. Use non-toxic products that you likely have already in your home to quickly and effectively unclog your stopped up bathroom sink.

Instructions

1. Slowly pour 1 cup of baking soda into the drain hole. Use a spatula or spoon to help guide the baking soda into the hole.

2. Pour 1 cup of white vinegar down the drain. Immediately plug the drain hole after pouring in the vinegar.

3. Let the mixture sit in the drain for 30 minutes. In the meantime, boil 4 cups of water on the stove.

4. Open the drain plug and slowly pour the hot water down the drain. Turn on the tap to see if the clog has cleared. If the water is still backing up, repeat this entire process. It may require more than one attempt to effectively clear the drain.
