Make Your Bedroom Lights Sound Sensitive

Lights across from the bed are more inconvenient to turn on and off.

Lights are usually controlled by switches or dimmers, but these are not convenient options if you have a medical issue affecting your mobility or if you are in bed and the light switch is across the room. One solution to this problem is using sound to control your bedroom lighting. Devices exist that allow you to clap or whistle when you want your lights on or off, and installing them in your bedroom makes light control sound-sensitive and more convenient.

Instructions

1. Plug a sound-activating switching device into a wall outlet close to the light you wish to control.

2. Run the power cable from the light over to the device and plug the light into the device's port. Some devices have multiple ports so they can control several lights through sound.

3. Turn on the light manually. Once it has power, the sound-activated switching device will turn it on and off based on your auditory commands. If the outlet is connected to a light switch in the bedroom, the switch should be on at all times for the sound-activated switching device to work.
