Dining room buffets and sideboards are useful for serving a crowd, but when they are empty they look bottom-heavy--as if only the bottom half of the wall is decorated. A
Instructions
1. Hang a mirror or a framed picture above the buffet. Add small pictures as desired. In a formal dining room, make a symmetrical arrangement by placing pictures in matching frames on either side of the mirror.
2. Place a pair of tall lamps on either side of the buffet for a balanced, formal look. In a casual room, use one lamp and balance the arrangement with a vase on the other side.
3. Add a large bowl to the center of your buffet. This bowl can be the centerpiece on your dining table when you are using the buffet for food.
4. Fill the bowl with an arrangement of flowers or greenery to match your color scheme. Add one or two small serving pieces such as a sugar bowl and a small tray.
